About our Membership

Anyone can join the Townsville Cinema Group. We offer several types of membership. Once a membership is purchased, you have entry to the films as determined by your membership type. 

2026 Townsville Cinema Group Membership Options

2026 Membership Options now available. 

2026 Full Year Membership

$140

  • Admission to all our screenings for the current year
  • Applies to any full year membership purchased from 1st March 2026.

2026 Full Year Early Bird Membership

$140 $130

  • Full Year Membership available to members who purchase membership before 1 March
  • This membership option closed on the 1 March

2026 Full Year Renewing Member

$120

  • We value our returning members.
  • This full year membership option is available to our 2025 season returning members.
  • Purchase before 1 March to secure this renewing member price.
  • This membership option closed on the 1 March.

2026 Half Year Membership

  • Admissions to all screenings in our first half.
  • Valid from opening night to the end of June
  • Admission to all our screenings from July to Closing Night (14 in total)

2026 Half Year Youth/ Student Member

$70

  • Admission to all our screenings from Opening Night to the end of June
  • ID Required.
  • People under the age of 15 NOT accompanied by an adult will only be able to attend films with a PG or M classification
  • Admission to all our screenings from July to Closing Night (14 in total)
  • ID Required.

5 Screening Membership

$60

  • Members will be given a pass that enables attendance at any five (5) screenings during the current year
  • Admits one patron per screening only

3 Screening Membership

$40

  • Members will be given a pass that enables attendance at any three (3) screenings during the current year.
  • Admits one patron per screening only

The box office is open 20 minutes before every screening at the BCC Cinema Townsville Central. Every second Thursday during the season. Check our current program for the next session.

Rules of the Townsville Cinema Group Inc.

Current Townsville Cinema Group Inc Rules

In accordance with the Australian Council of Film Societies rules, Townsville Cinema Group Inc. operates strictly as a members-only exhibitor. This status unlocks cheaper screening licences and the ability for TCG to show unclassified films. Single-session tickets are not available. Entry is by membership only.

Our objectives are to promote and to provide access to films of different genres, cultures and countries for the benefit of the members.

Townsville Cinema Group Inc holds Public Liability Insurance Cover.

Single-session tickets are being trialed again in 2026.

Fact of life: film lovers can not be confined to one geographical area. Townsville Cinema Group recognises film lovers from far and wide often like to attend a single Townsville Cinema Group screening, including when there are visitors for different events such as the North Australian Festival of Arts ( https://nafa-tsv.com.au/) or when we run cross-organisation screenings. We listened to your feedback from our 2025 screenings. In 2026 we are transitioning to offering both membership and single screening options. The implications of this will mean we need to calculate member and non-member screening numbers so we pay the appropriate fee for each film.

We need your support to ensure we optimise attendance.  Please promote the existence of the group to the world!
